Congratulations to Our Newly Certified Case Managers
Meet Our New Members
Member Spotlight

| • |
We are an affiliate chapter of
CMSA National serving the Delaware, Pennsylvania and New
Jersey areas in and around the city of Philadelphia, PA. |
| • |
We are Case Managers and others who share a common
purpose: to network, educate, support and promote case management.
|
We welcome your participation and encourage
you to join the Mid-Atlantic Chapter.
To join our Chapter, you must first become
a member of the Case Management Society of America's national organization.
You can do this online at www.cmsa.org.
You can sign up instantly and pay with a credit card, or you can mail
your application. Be sure to check out the many benefits associated with
membership!
CMSA National will contact us with your membership information and we
will add you to our Chapter e-mail list so you won’t miss any Mid-Atlantic Chapter
meeting announcements.
You do not have to be a nurse, or a Certified Case Manager (CCM)
to belong to our organization. The CMSA, Mid-Atlantic Chapter supports
the principles upon which the National CMSA mission is based as outlined
in their value statement:
“Case/Care Managers believe patients need
an advocate...someone who helps clients understand what's wrong with them,
what they need to do about it and why those treatments are important.
In this way, case and care managers serve as catalysts. By participating
in the equation, case and care managers enable their clients to achieve
goals more effectively and efficiently."

We are so proud of the honors and accomplishments
of our members and would love to share them the entire membership. Send

Betty
Long, RN, president and founder of Guardian Nurses
Healthcare Advocates, was honored at a reception in
New York on Monday, November 10th by Glamour Magazine
and TAG
Heuer North America as part of a celebration of
Glamour's annual
Women of the Year Event at Carnegie
Hall. Long was selected as one
of five women who
"make a difference in her community" in conjunction
with
the What Are You Made Of campaign by TAG
Heuer. Betty was honored for founding a company of nurses providing health
care advocacy services. Along with the reception to receive her award, Long received
a three-day trip to New York for the event culminating in attending the
black-tie, red carpet event at Carnegie Hall.
The following morning, Uma Thurman hosted a private breakfast in New
York City, honoring the 5 women who are changing the world around them.
Betty noted that, “It was quite a thrill for my accomplishments to be
recognized by Uma Thurman, TAG Heuer watches, and Glamour magazine.
And since it was my birthday yesterday, Uma was kind enough to lead the
attendees in a warm rendition of ‘Happy Birthday.’ What a way to celebrate
a birthday”!
Congratulations Betty for your accomplishments, your dedication
to Case Management and your work with the Mid-Atlantic CMSA Chapter.
