Topic: Continuous Glucose Monitoring: Practical Approaches to the Newest Technology in Diabetes

Objectives:
1.Discuss the FDA approved indications for use of the various CGM devices, how CGM is an adjunct to SMBG and the fundamental aspects of CGM technology.
2.Review the three FDA approved CGM devices currently available, features of each system, product comparisons and how CGM features can be used to improve patients’ glycemic control.
3.Describe the benefits of CGM as it pertains to certain clinical criteria and how real-time data can help improve glucose control.
4.Review the accuracy data for each of the three CGM systems currently available.
5.Identify the various clinical studies that demonstrate the clinical outcomes and improvement in glycemic control with the use of CGM.
